Walton Lake

Walton Lake is a smaller reservoir in Jefferson County in the city of Fairfield, Iowa. It is 70 acres in size and offers its residents a quiet, private environment. You are only 4.5 hours from the windy city of Chicago, two hours to Des Moines, and 3.5 hours to St. Louis, Missouri.

Golfing and Parks

The Walton Club rests on the southern shore of Walton lake and has an 18-hole golf course for all levels to enjoy.

You can also visit the Fairfield Golf & Country Club if you would like a change of scenery. It is the oldest country club west of the Mississippi and offers a golf course, swimming pool, and a restaurant.

There are two smaller parks nearby Walton Lake. The Chautauqua Park and Lamson Woods State Preserve are great places to walk, picnic, and enjoy the local wildlife.
